Alaska Hidden Gems Photography Contest: 2009
Alaska Wilderness League and Alaska Wilderness Recreation and Tourism Association (AWRTA) have teamed up to highlight the extraordinary and diverse values found on federal public lands in Alaska, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. These lands contain some of our nation's greatest treasures: the world's largest wild salmon fishery, the largest surging glacier in North America, millions of migratory and resident bird populations, the largest caribou herd in Alaska, and Alaska's longest River; the mighty Yukon.
The unique history, cultures, and untouched beauty of these wild places is yet to be discovered and we hope to inspire the public to showcase these amazing places. Starting April 1, through May 15, Alaska Wilderness League and AWRTA will be accepting photographic submissions of experiences, adventures, and the great vistas of the BLM lands in Alaska. Prizes will be awarded for top photos and runners up. Prizes include outdoor gear and Alaska Native art. For more information on how to participate please visit Alaska Wilderness Leagues website at www.alaskawild.org/blmcontest/
