Why Join AWRTA?

The Alaska Wilderness Recreation and Tourism Association has been a highly effective advocate for ecotourism businesses for over a decade.  AWRTA's advocacy work is only as successful as our member support.  As a membership driven organization, we need your continued support to be active in statewide nature-based tourism, marketing and conservation issues.

A collective voice for small nature-based tourism businesses is needed now more than ever.  Increased development, access to wild places, and decreased support for tourism planning and marketing will impact the "wilderness" character that our businesses depend on.  By joining AWRTA, you become a part of a voice and make us stronger as a result. 

AWRTA also offers members several tangible services that include: 1) marketing through our user-friendly website, 2) a vehicle for voicing issues that affect your business, and 3) a resource for networking with other businesses, industry, government personnel and other policy-makers and elected officials.

AWRTA is the ONLY organization that truly represents small, wilderness-dependent tourism businesses in the state.  Without your voice and support, AWRTA will not be able to raise important issues and advocate for the sustainability of wild Alaska.
